This Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesday is a global movement that inspires millions of people around the world to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Created in 2012, it’s built on a simple idea — a day that encourages people to do good.

This year, MBK Dayton is proud to join the movement with a goal to raise $10,000 by December 2, 2025 to support our youth through transformative programs and experiences.

MBK Dayton leads a daily call to action in Montgomery County, building safe and supportive communities for boys and young men while creating pathways to education, employment, and leadership. Your Giving Tuesday support will help sustain programs that empower youth to reach their full potential:

Summer STEM Camp Initiative – Donations directly fund hands-on, engaging, and equitable learning experiences in science, technology, engineering, and math. This program helps young minds explore innovation, problem-solving, and the confidence to dream big.

Leadership and Career Development Programs – From Unlock Your Potential and Etiquette Training at Northridge Schools to Life Beyond the Game 1 & 11 and MBK Ohio Leadership Day at Great American Ball Park, MBK Dayton provides students with mentorship, leadership skills, and real-world exposure to future careers.

Scholarship Gala Awards – Each year, we honor local students who are pursuing college or trade pathways, celebrating their accomplishments and supporting their continued success.

Your generosity can change lives. You can get involved by donating, volunteering as a mentor, or providing in-kind contributions such as interviews or business attire for our youth.

Together, we can continue closing opportunity gaps, expanding access, and building a stronger, more hopeful Dayton. Join us this Giving Tuesday and help empower the next generation of leaders.

Why give?

  • It all begins with opportunity. Maybe a young person dreams of graduating high school. Maybe they want to discover their talents and carve out a brighter future.

  • It all begins with guidance. Maybe a mentor steps in and changes the path of a young life. Maybe they inspire confidence to dream bigger and aim higher.

  • It all begins with connection. Maybe access to a job or training unlocks a career. Maybe it sparks a lifelong passion and a sense of purpose.

  • It all begins with community. When we invest in our youth, we invest in a stronger, more vibrant future for everyone.

  • It all begins with you. Your support helps MBK Dayton empower young men and women of color to overcome barriers, realize their potential, and create lasting change.

  • It all begins today. Be the difference that transforms a life, a family, and a community.

The MSK and MBK programs have shaped me into the person I am today. When I first started high school, I felt very nervous and scared about what the future would hold. However, once I joined MSK, those feelings faded away. They showed me what to do, how to reach my goals in school, and how to succeed in life. I realize that support like this is rare to find.

As time went on, I learned about MBK. Even though I wasn’t able to participate fully, they still treated me like the big brothers I needed and continue to do so. For me, MSK and MBK are truly the best place to be.

Being a mentor for My Sister’s Keeper has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. It has given me a deep sense of pride to be able to give back to my community and make a positive impact on the lives of young Black girls. Mentoring these brilliant young women is something I’ve always dreamed of, and having the opportunity to guide them as they work toward achieving their dreams is truly a gift. Through this program, I’ve not only been able to help them grow, but I’ve also grown as a person, learning the value of patience, leadership, and compassion. My Sister’s Keeper has reminded me of the power of sisterhood and the importance of uplifting and empowering the next generation.Monet Goode

It all begins with opportunity. Maybe it’s helping a young person graduate high school. Maybe it’s connecting them to a mentor who believes in their potential. Or maybe it’s providing the resources they need to build a brighter future. Whatever it is, your support can make all the difference in transforming lives and strengthening our community.
